Daily Maternity Nurses
Daily maternity nurses generally work weekdays only and work an 8-10 hour shift with flexibility on start and finish times. Their role is to support the mother during the day if she is breast feeding or bottle feeding the baby themselves so that the mother has a chance to rest and recover after the birth. Families who don't have space to accommodate a 24 hour maternity nurse may find this option more suitable.
Daily Maternity Nurses are expected to undertake responsibility for the care of the baby and mother and the duties include:
-
Preparing all milk feeds and sterilising equipment
-
Feeding the baby if bottle fed
-
Advising on breast feeding as necessary
-
Washing and ironing all of baby's clothes cot linen etc.
-
Bathing and changing the baby as required
-
Daily tidying of the nursery
-
Assisting you in establishing a routine that suits your family needs
-
Ensuring mum is eating and drinking enough during the day
-
Some daily maternity nurses offer additional services such as preparing home cooked meals for the freezer at an additional cost
As a general rule positions are booked approx. 4 -6 months in advance; however we are used to handling emergency bookings. We are only able to supply day maternity nurses in the London area.
